Ali Vassigh

​Co-Founder & Managing Shareholder

Biography

Ali Vassigh, a Co-Founder and Managing Shareholder at California Self Insurance Law (CA-SIL), plays a crucial role in representing various entities within the workers’ compensation landscape. His expertise extends to self-insured employers, self-insured groups, third-party administrators, and insurance companies. Ali’s legal practice focuses on handling workers’ compensation cases brought by allegedly injured workers, both at the appeals board and through alternative dispute resolution processes. Ali has extensive experience handling claims in the following industries: restaurants, construction, farming, agriculture, trucking, aviation, engineering, nursing, and public entities. Ali handles all aspects of workers' compensation claims, including claims for serious and willful misconduct penalties, and L.C. §132a discrimination penalties.

 

Ali handles cases in several WCAB offices in the Southern California area including Oxnard, Van Nuys, Bakersfield, Fresno, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Long Beach, Marina Del Rey, Pomona, Riverside, and San Bernardino.

 

Ali regularly garners favorable preemptive settlements for his clients. His success in this regard resulted in an invitation to speak at the American Airlines national legal summit on the topic of settlement strategies in 2022. Ali was also invited to be a guest speaker at the 2024 annual conference for the California Coalition on Workers’ Compensation.

 

Ali was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2021 and 2022. He was featured in Los Angeles Magazine and Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine. This identifies him as being among the top 2.5% of up-and-coming attorneys.

Ali is also accomplished in civil litigation. His successes included a win in a wrongful death trial. Ali also has experience in the appellate courts, including a case resulting in a published opinion.

 

Ali received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA, graduating cum laude. While at Loyola Law School, Ali earned the CALI award for excellence in education and was invited to be a guest speaker at the Law School Admissions Council's annual meeting and conference. Ali's extensive experience has roots in international law coursework conducted in Beijing, China, and Colon, Costa Rica under programs offered in collaboration with the University of International Business and Economics and the University for Peace.
